Del Monte
At Del Monte’s Kansas City location, Innovative Mechanical Concepts’ banana room refrigeration project focused on replacing the unit coolers serving two refrigerated spaces. These systems play an essential role in moving cooled air throughout the rooms and supporting the conditions needed for product storage.
The project included removing three existing unit coolers and supplying new Bohn replacement equipment. Our scope brought together refrigerant handling, equipment removal, and installation, with the new units connected to the facility’s existing refrigeration piping, drains, electrical service, and controls. Working within that infrastructure required careful attention to how each replacement would fit and function as part of the larger system.
The replacement equipment included electric defrost heaters and a protective coil coating, addressing practical maintenance needs within the refrigerated environment. Those details matter in a produce facility, where equipment is exposed to demanding conditions and must remain accessible for cleaning and ongoing service.
Startup and operational checks completed the installation scope, verifying that the new equipment operated properly after connection. The Del Monte project reflects IMC’s ability to handle commercial refrigeration work from removal through startup, bringing the mechanical knowledge and installation discipline needed to support the systems behind daily food distribution.
